EMPOWERING EVERY STUDENT WORKSHOP SERIES “If you can dream it, you can do it”
At UWLF, we believe that every student, regardless of their background, upbringing, circumstances or self-limiting beliefs, has the ability to excel and succeed in life. Through the Empowering Every Student Workshop Series, we help each student create a compelling future, by turning a dream into a tangible action plan, and learning the science of achievement and personal success.
This 5-Module* (10-week) curriculum is created to empower students to design their lives and become the best version of themselves. Through these modules, students unlock their potential and motivation by thinking bigger about their future; designing their lives around their identity, values and passions; and acquiring the mindset, skills and habits of top performers to learn a lifelong practice for success and fulfillment.
This curriculum follows a 5-step Framework, which starts with an individual’s ability to lead themselves through the achievement of challenging goals.
MODULE 1. Define Personal Success:
We start by helping students develop intrinsic motivation by challenging them to think about passions or long-term goals. Intrinsic motivation allows students to pursue challenging goals, overcome obstacles, develop confidence, and practice leadership skills.
MODULE 2. Set Goals The Right Way:
Using this definition of personal success, students work backwards to set tangible, challenging goals in the areas of academic achievement, leadership development, and communication skills for the next 10 weeks.
MODULE 3. Create The Blueprint:
After setting these goals, students work backwards again to identify the most critical action steps and milestones they need to accomplish along the way to achieve their goals.
MODULE 4. Find & Maintain The Vision:
Students then learn about the Law of Attraction and the underutilized skill of visualization. This helps students regularly think about achieving their goals so that they direct their conscious actions to be productive towards their goals, while simultaneously activating their powerful subconscious.
MODULE 5. Practice Intangible Skills:
Modules 1-4 set students up to go experience leadership through a context that gets them excited, accomplishing the goals they set for themselves. By identifying the intangible skills they will need in pursuit of their goals, they are more likely to take risks, step out of their comfort zone, practice intangible skills, and put in the extra effort to achieve their goals.
