Bilingual Paraprofessional - Early Childhood

The United We Lead Foundation (UWLF) is seeking a Bilingual Paraprofessional to support home-based visits for children aged 3–7 in Tulare County). Under the guidance of a Manager, the paraprofessional will implement an approved curriculum, collaborate with caregivers, and provide developmental support in a home-based setting. This role involves direct interaction with children and their families to promote academic, social-emotional, and language development in alignment with federal and state standards.

Responsibilities
  • Key Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver age-appropriate curriculum for the district’s home-based preschool program.
  •  Collaborate with caregivers to enhance their knowledge and skills in child development.
  • Monitor, assess, and adjust learning activities to meet each child’s needs and interests.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments as per program requirements.
  •  Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) support for communication and materials.
  •  Prepare instructional materials and maintain records, lesson plans, and assessments.
  •  Ensure adherence to UWLF and Migrant Education School Readiness standards.
  •  Participate in meetings, training, and professional development as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Two years of college (48 units) or equivalent experience in early childhood education. • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in childhood development; coursework in early childhood education may substitute for experience
  •  Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written). • Transportation: Must provide personal transportation (mileage reimbursed).
  • Licenses: o Valid California driver’s license. o Proof of liability insurance (if using a personal vehicle). o Associate Teacher Child Development Permit is a plus.

Strong understanding of child growth, development, and early childhood education.

• Ability to plan, organize, and implement curriculum in a home-based environment.

• Effective communication and cross-cultural sensitivity.

• Proficiency with standard office equipment and record-keeping.

Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. • Bend, kneel, and lift as needed to assist children. • Use vision, hearing, and communication skills for instruction and safety. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required prior to employment. Any combination equivalent to: Two years of college (48 units) and two years of experience working in childhood development. College coursework in early childhood education may be substituted for experience.
